About Apgar

Apgar A/S was founded in 1991 by Vagn Pieler, who with his 20 years of experience in medical equipment from Hewlett Packard and 7 years from General Electric wanted to start his own business. To begin with, Apgar only sold equipment and medical disposables to the maternity wards in the Danish hospitals.

Today, we are a large-scale supplier within the surgical, gynaecological, obstetric and radiological fields as well as patient monitoring. Apgar also has many products for private practice specialists.

In 2007, we opened our first office in Sweden, just north of Helsingborg, and have since then established offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg. In Sweden, we also primarily focus on the surgical specialties and cooperate with many of the suppliers that we currently represent in Denmark.
The companies we represent today are all innovative, i.e. they are fully abreast of new technologies and quality.

Most of our consumables and much of our equipment are stock goods in our warehouse in Brøndby, which means that orders received before 2:00 pm will be shipped the same day and received by the customer the following day. Northern Sweden, however, must expect a slightly longer delivery time. In connection with supply of equipment, we will, of course, set it up in the ward and conduct training of the staff, if required.

Apgar has been awarded the "Gazelle" prize by the Danish business paper “Børsen” 3 times. Gazelle companies are the fastest growing companies in Denmark.

Also, the American company Dun & Bradstreet, which is represented by Soliditet in Denmark, has nominated us to be among the healthiest companies in Denmark. Obviously, we are very proud of this and it serves as an inspiration to us all.
